Burgos’s Tour 2015

Burgos's Tour 2015 ...by DeliciasBurgos

Read in the papers: “Dani Moreno (@KatushaCycling) and Mikel Landa (@AstanaTeam) are regarded as the main favoured cyclists to win the XXXVII Tour of Burgos, that will start today”

Dani Moreno already won the 2012 competition and Mikel Landa got his first victories in the Neila lakes finish in 2011.

The Youth and Sport Organization (IDJ), belonging to Burgos’ Provincial Council, is the one organizing this cycling race. The novelty included this year is a race-against-time that will take place tomorrow in Burgos streets… and we will be there together to many friends with the invaluable help of @BurgosAlimenta and we will display our Delis at Atapuerca promenade.

Five Stages

The first stage will start today in Santo Domingo de Silos (village famous now for its gregorian singing munks whose recordings have been top sales worldwide) and will be 149km long, arriving at the roman city of Clunia by an amazing ramp after four ports of third category.

The second stage (the one against time) will be starting at Atapuerca promenade and finishing by Burgos cathedral (Human Heritage protected by the @Unesco) at Santa María square: yes, just below us :)

Thursday’s stage is the only one designed for sprinters, cycling the 165km between Castrojeriz (important stop at Saint Jacques way) and Villadiego.

For the fourth stage, a new finish has been prepared by IDJ at Sun Valley in Pineda de la Sierra, a third category climbing from Belorado village.

The major stage will take place on Saturday, with the ending at Neila lakes, a premium category port that will decide the Vuelta’s winner. Cyclers will have to pass through seven ports and 170km in this stage but we hope all of them can pass it. We will be witnesses of it.
